PASTOR APOLLO DECLARES GILBERT "GIBO" TEODORO AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

More than 50,000 Kingdom Citizens gathered at the Jesus Christ Compound, in the New Jerusalem, Davao City, to hear Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy's proclamation of the next president of the Philippines.

For three days, Pastor Apollo was in fervent prayer, asking for the Almighty Father’s guidance, as he had been doing so in the past elections.  President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and President Joseph Estrada were among those revealed to him in earlier elections.

The pronouncement was originally scheduled to be made on Pastor Apollo's birthday last April 25.  But because he did not receive any clear revelation from the Father by then, the declaration was moved to May 2.  It was only  at 12:00 noon of May 2, that the Almighty Father clearly revealed to the Appointed Son, that Gilbert Teodoro is His choice to run the Philippines in the next six years—succeeding now President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

In his declaration speech, Pastor Apollo said that disunity has caused the wounds of the country to become deeper and deeper through the years. He said that despite our differences, there is no opposition and administration in the eyes of God. “We must remain as one people, one nation after the elections,”he said.

He called for nobility and political maturity. In choosing leaders in the coming elections, saying that Filipinos should be issue-based and not personality based.

He noted that the Philippines will only ‘take off’ if the right leadership exists in the land. And Lakas Kampi - CMD standard bearer Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro personified that kind of leadership.

Appointed as the next president of the Philippines, a "leader after the Almighty Father’s heart," Teodoro, considered to be the ‘dark horse from behind’, is the only candidate with the political maturity "to tear down the barricades of hatred, cynicism, negativity and division.”

"We will never rise up if we continue to pull at each other. We need a leader with a character strong enough to face the challenge of healing past wounds, of uniting our people," he said.

Teodoro, he reiterated, represents the "new Philippines, whose citizens are educated, whose children are well-nourished, whose people are competent; whose leaders have something between their ears and can stand shoulder to shoulder with the leaders of other nations."

Pastor Apollo said that he may either sink or swim with his proclamation of Teodoro as the next Philippine president but it is what is best for the country.

Pastor Apollo also chose Senator Mar Roxas of the Liberal Party, from among the eight candidates running for vice president, in what is considered to be the first automated election in the Philippines.
